15 printers and more than 20 workers to bind and help with manual activities.

How to catch the light? By hand, among the fingers, with patience and millimetric.

For the house of Viabizzuno light design we produced a manual that turns on the passion for lighting engineering and provides architect and designer with the necessary tools to express their ideas.

We combined the automatic production process with handmade stitchings in order to bind together a spine of 11.5 cm, that had to undergo a press made in several steps.

We printed the book with our Offset machines and we used different machines for folding and binding the copies. In order to properly mounting such a large spine, we built a specific template and we entrusted the binding to 18 artisans, organized in several work shifts.

The binding is a crucial moment in the entire production process. A good binding can guarantee the endurance of the book in time.

The printing process was quite fast thanks to our 3 machines at 10 colors, that allow us to print beautiful pages rich in brightness and freshness.

We printed every single sheet to create an emotional effect, as a result of the accuracy of the printing process: each image is reproduced on a natural surface, on uncoated paper of 80 grams.

Not to lose track of what you were reading, we have inserted 6 small bookmarks in 6 different colors among the pages of the book. In this way you can easily find the last page that you were reading or specific points of the book that you consider particularly interested.

Cover is in white fabric with a black hot foil, to underline the contrast between light and shadow.

It’s rough to the touch and clean in the aspect, with pages that offer technical and professional high-quality contents.
