The production of the book Murales of Tibet for Taschen turned out to be THE biggest challenge. The printing phases have been very delicate, binding and finishing demanded a great amount of time and a lot of concentration.

Code word was: color, color, color. The combination between the ivory paper that refers to the past and high-density inks immerged us, page after page, into the deep mystique atmosphere of Tibet.

The great experience and professionalism of all our printers and technicians was crucial for the good outcome of this project. We used our own Offset machines and our equipment for the lamination and the binding.

The front cover is in Setalux printed in 4 colors. It’s a silk fabric particularly used for high-quality and luxury. We used a white support and we printed all the details and colours with precision and rigor. It’s extremely soft.

The back cover is in red fabric while the foil on the front is in gold and black color, in register with the image. The “pastel” effect is created by the hot foils, It’s an old process, very fascinating to see and to touch.

We realized a bodonian binding with a round spine, sewn with red thread for a luxury and charming final effect.

We inserted in the book 5 satin bookmarks, in different colors (ochre, light blue, beige, bordeaux and green) placed by hand with a “curl” on the top, in order to contrast with the book block with is colored in gold.
